A HUMORLESS SOCIETY?
September 4th, 2020 8:26 AM

Dear Friends,

For a long period of time, America lost its sense of humor. The Coronavirus, the racial tension within the country, the loss of jobs, homelessness, the violence, riots and killings in our major cities and the upcoming General Election has contributed towards a demise of wholesome comedy and laughter. In my humble opinion I view the loss of comedy to those that harbor contempt for our liberties and freedoms by their hatred. The direct result of the ongoing change in America's culture has corrupted everything due to politics entering every aspect of our lives. It has been said by many discerning individuals that anything the left touches, it destroys.

On a personal level, the last time I had a belly laugh was last month when I attended my nephew's wedding. I was able to energize my spirit in such a manner that I was truly relaxed and had the ability to be myself once again. For many years I had a jovial, gregarious nature and was known for my wit and comic timing. For a very brief period, I remember impersonating Curly of the Three Stooges to gain an audience and the affection of my friends. You'd be surprised that self-deprecating humor develops lasting and loving relationships! I'm grateful for the fun times I had, but this chapter in my life has become a distant memory. I long for the days that I enjoyed the likes of Johnny Carson, Jonathan Winters, Rodney Dangerfield, Don Rickles, Bob Hope, Redd Foxx, Don Knotts, Lucille Ball, Phyllis Diller and so many affable comedians that offered a release of anxiety and stress that I and many of us experience in a course of daily life. There are times I sit in front of my laptop and view my favorite TV shows from years past as well as movies I've enjoyed, to rid myself of the scandalous and depressing news that never seems to end.

I retire at 9PM daily so I rarely view any of the late night talk shows. For many years. I've come to the sad conclusion these late night hosts are not funny. The incessant disclosure of their political views and having politicians as guests, does not offer me the enthusiasm nor the amusement to sacrifice my time, by subjecting myself in listening to rubbish. I also seek wholesome humor devoid of profanity. The proliferation of decadence in entertainment, has abused the innocence of children by its neglect of human decency and those like myself, the disdain for dialogue that include sexual innuendo as a form of comedy. This evening, I'll do my best to raise my serotonin levels. My goal is to ease the stress brought upon by the bombardment of deception and hypocrisy endorsed by the main street media and miscreants, in their pursuit of destroying America

The challenges this nation faces today will never be considered a sitcom. Be that as it may, I'll be watching the Andy Griffith Show tonight. If at all possible, I know that even fictional characters like Mayberry Sheriff Andy Taylor and Deputy Barney Fife with one bullet in his pocket, could scare the living daylights out of those eager to deceive Americans and proselytize Socialism as the solution for America's problems. It would be a miracle if any patriotic, integrity based television character from the past was allowed to fight the evils America faces today. At my age, I've witnessed the impossible, as such, I will always believe in miracles! Will the death of America and its protracted jovial nature come to an end on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020? We will know soon enough - as this day in American history is no laughing matter.

Thanks again for your continuous support - during these challenging times in America.
