Dear Friends,
As always, the first few days of any New Year comes across with bountiful hopes and desires of promise. Unfortunately, the entire world seems to be unraveling before our very eyes, once again. After awhile, there are many of us that have lost patience with the overall direction of their communities, their nation and the entire world. It seems inconceivable any accounts of solace or goodwill will ever come from dissent, or voices from those that care about the human condition.
All of us know what is happening throughout the globe. The continued presence of hatred, violence, famine and despair, are trials that prevents the spirit of healing and compassion to rise from such dire circumstances, when evil is allowed to manifest. While proclamations of love were shared with our spouses, families and friends on Valentine's Day, we must do our best to offer our deepest concern for the downtrodden and maligned.
The only method that can move mountains and help restore the respect and genuine sympathy for others, is through the power of prayer. The next time you view or are made aware of exploitation and the dissolution of civility, recite 'Our Lords Prayer' as an acknowledgement, that one need not suffer torment in the hands of those that seek to harm others.

Eastenders 30th Anniversary
This week marks the 30th Anniversary of the British soap, Eastenders. I do have several indulgences which can be considered harmless, but without exception, the drama that occurs on Albert Square in the fictional environment of Walford has its qualities of literal enslavement. If you are a regular viewer, this would be the week that Lucy's killer will be revealed. The fascination with this storyline has engulfed many of its loyal fans since Good Friday of last year. One can easily compare the episode of Dallas so many years ago, when America finally became aware of who shot JR.
Mysteries have always provided a source of entertainment and intrigue. As a Columbo enthusiast, I have my suspicions on the person that ended Lucy's life. All will be revealed this week through LIVE episodes. It is truly appropriate that by viewing Eastenders, this will be my only excitement for some time, as the Lenten season of fast and abstinence begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18th.

Mardi Gras 2015
It has been 10 Years since I visited New Orleans for Mardi Gras! For many years, I always had an open invitation from old college buddies to fly South and enjoy the comforts of Cajun inspired hospitality. Parades, binge drinking, over eating on spicy food and gathering the motivation to overcome the allure of intemperance, can make your head spin!
As of now, I do not lament being in New Orleans, as I have wonderful memories and several recollections I dare not mention. Nevertheless, circumstances and basically life in general, has changed one's priorities or commitments. The importance of trivial pursuits are no longer viewed with an urgent sense of enchantment, as it once did a decade ago. When you hear someone say, 'what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas', well, in my particular situation, through time and self-restraint, similar wishes of past excursions in the 'Big Easy' are best remembered thousands of miles away!
Even so, I wish everyone a Happy Mardi Gras!
Thanks Again
