Dear Friends,
On Sunday, we celebrate our Mothers and Grandmothers for the love we cherish by their companionship in our lives. Whether alive or deceased, the wonderful memories, devotion, support, and the compassion our Mothers have given us throughout our many trials as children and adults, will always be remembered. I am aware that my beloved Mother is at home with the Lord and I know without hesitation, she is looking down and assisting my path towards peace and contentment. It has been over 20 years since her passing, and those that knew her best are drawn to the kindness, warmth and love she encompassed while alive and in our presence. 'Angeles' is in our hearts, as we have an affectionate remembrance of her daily. It has been said that my Mother was a Saint, as she patiently persevered through her own challenges without malice, by the strength the good Lord gave her to overcome malevolent forces within her surroundings.
Below is a photograph of my Mother, Father, my two Brothers, Sister Honora and me in Detroit during the Summer of 1966 when we were reunited as a family. My brothers and I stayed at a Catholic home for boys and Sister Honora was the administrator of the residence. Our parents were unable to leave Communist Cuba and be with us for over 4.years. When children are separated from the love of a parent due to political despotism, the impact is devastating. It has been many years since our reunion that Summer, and I've understood the passage in Scripture which states "all things work for good for those who love God." (Romans 8-28) Due to the sacrifice, suffering and pain all of us endured during this time in our lives, we will always be truly grateful for the outpouring of love we so graciously encountered.
I can tell you the contempt I have for leftist ideology that destroys. However on this Mother's Day and for the remaining days of my life, I look at the sky above and know in my heart that I am loved.
I wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day!

Thanks again for your continuous support.
