Dear Friends,
I was on YouTube last week, listening to various enthralling musical performances that offered the inspiration and the genuine hope that all the personal challenges I face, will be resolved at an anointed time chosen for my own good. The struggles of living a life where conflicts surround one's presence at every turn can be exhausting, and can create moments of sadness and hostility. Circumstances in which worries attributed to health, financial calamities or concerns of betrayal by friends or acquaintances, are considered the periodic events that have a direct effect on the construction and substance of one's character for years to come. The choices made through contemplation or by haste today, will determine our future joys and tribulations.

I'm reminded of Doris Day when she sang,

Que sera, sera
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours to see
Que sera, sera
Whatever will be, will be

These lyrics hold true when we fully appreciate the cause and effect of our decisions. It is no wonder the inclination to control our destinies is a difficult and exasperating process, while a preconceived outcome is purely an occurrence that happens by chance.
In a few short days, we will either remember the characters we've invited into our lives to love or be loved, and the sacrifices we experience to maintain a level of affection or romance as an attachment required for lasting intimacy. While family is the main focus in which love blossoms, our good friends help us in appreciating the blessings that create the presence that allows us to believe that love conquers all provocative circumstances.

Smile Therapy
In my humble capacity to help end any trace of past or current demonstrations of despondency in my surroundings, I have encountered a simple solution - 'smile therapy'. I have come to the conclusion that smiling more often assists one's demeanor by elevating endorphins, which eventually reduces the sensation of pain or stress.
In my 2 week trial of 'smile therapy', I've encountered the most wondrous interactions with many of the persons I've met on any given day! Greetings of the day, smiles from ear to ear, polite outpourings of respect and a feeling of serendipity are just a few of the situations I've been lucky to come across. Perhaps the entire world could benefit by smiling on a regular basis! While this approach may be considered superficial, it doesn't hurt to share a smile with a neighbor or those you meet around town. It's best to express yourself at appropriate times and never force a smile.  Deception is not necessary. While we can all agree that love makes the world go round, I'm encouraged by the compassion and generosity of those who assist those that are suffering in a world unraveling before our very eyes.

While Valentine's Day is less than a week away, I can recall the loving memories of past romances that were filled with bliss and fortune. You can find numerous quotations and poems from individuals in all walks of life with similar impressions. They seek to interpret the concept of love as the overwhelming force that defines the intensity of our values, in a society full of strife and despair.
Written below, are just a few of the numerous examples of thought provoking declarations of love we can all recognize and appreciate. Our lives are enriched by taking us to a place in time where love knows no bounds and overwhelms us with its warmth.
Let's hope the time and place where love is in abundance, happens today!

"Love is life. And if you miss love, you miss life."
Leo Buscaglia

"I've decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."
Martin Luther King Jr

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage."
Lao Tzu

"Love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence."
H.L Mencken

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."
St. Paul
1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Thanks again for your continuous support.
