A GUIDED PATH
February 6th, 2012 9:41 PM

Dear Friends,

To preface my opening remarks, I am grateful to have been afforded the opportunity to voice my thoughts once again and in so doing, I offer you my sincerest wishes for a happy and prosperous new year!

While it has been over 60 days since my last post, I must blame myself in my inability to drown the discordant voices of those sad individuals, eager to harm the natural optimism of personality that I have embraced since my days as a child in Havana. I do remember the distant past, the circumstances where contemplation is heeded and errors in judgment so devastating, the final result can only be considered as an advantage of resilience. These true and authentic recollections are forthcoming in 'The Miracle' wherein my awkward beginnings of exile from a despot, just 90 miles from the southern coast of Florida, will truly remind the reader, the life we live today, continues to be worth living in abundance!

While my book will be completed later this year, I am fortunate that Valentine's Day is just around the corner. The love I have for my family and friends is absolute. As well, my love for chocolates is well known. The first offering to end the anxiousness that I felt once I landed in Miami after leaving Havana with my brothers and without my parents, was in April of 1962. On leaving the aircraft the stewardess handed me a Hershey's chocolate bar! To this day, chocolate has given me an excuse to be self-indulgent when the time for an 'escape' is apparent.

While the evolution of circumstances of one's past is the harbinger of behavior which can be recognized in the present, the inclination to end any torment or shortcomings as it relates to one's character is a decision one faces in extremes. One's personality is formed as the preponderance of events formulate an individuals' thought processes, while the desire to change from a miscreant towards benevolence is a decision which takes great courage.

It is my belief there are forces in government, business and the media that have succumbed to the handiwork of a dysfunctional personal past by authorizing the dismantling of this nations's values, symbols and the substance of a great nation. Four more years of living in a daily crisis mode where civil liberties, religious freedoms and where simple truths is a concept to be manipulated and ridiculed, the day of America's perdition is fast approaching.

The discernment I pray for daily, offers me the peace and the comfort I require to live in a nation unraveling before my very eyes! Unfortunately, the atmosphere in which Americans are seeking the acceptance or the desire of true companionship, has been diminished by the assault on the values and the independence many of us have taken for granted.

Any thought provoking individual can see where this country is headed. Now is the time for all Americans of a discerning spirit to become involved by meeting with their family, friends, neighbors and clergy and voicing their concerns regarding the abuse of sacrosanct, unwavering Judeo-Christian values by petulant, corrupt forces evident in our society. At this juncture in American history, the pendulum towards such derision needs to end and the power granted to all Americans must be implemented. The wisdom of the Founding Fathers should never be second guessed by anyone that loves liberty and the rule of law. The desires to recapture the respect and the decency all Americans deserve, can only be attained when the truth sets you free.

Thanks Again
